The Crane Resort & Residence Marks its 120th Anniversary with Top Industry Accolade
St. Philip, Barbados, July 17, 2007: The Crane Resort & Residences, renowned for its understated elegance, old-world charm and natural beauty, has received the prestigious Pillar of Tourism Industry Award at the recent 2007 Barbados Tourism Awards Gala.
The second annual awards gala took place at Illaro Court, the official residence of the Prime Minister of Barbados. This top honour was presented by Oliver Jordan, Country Head of The First Caribbean International Bank, to Paul Doyle, owner of The Crane Resort & Residence, who graciously accepted this exceptional tribute.
The Pillar of Tourism Industry award is considered the highest accolade for Barbados workers and stakeholders. This is the second consecutive year that The Crane Resort has been nominated for this award and its first win. Nestled on a powdery pink sand crescent beach, The Crane, established in 1887, celebrates 120 years this year and holds the distinction of being the Caribbean’s oldest continuously operating resort hotel.
